A wave of stabbing attacks has spread fear in Jerusalem and much of Israel. The violence began with clashes at Jerusalem's most sensitive holy site and quickly spread to Arab neighborhoods of east Jerusalem, across Israel and to the West Bank and Gaza.

10. An injured woman is comforted following an explosion at the main train station in Turkey's capital Ankara, on Oct. 10. The two explosions occurred seconds apart outside the capital's main train station as hundreds of opposition supporters and Kurdish activists gathered for the peace rally organized by Turkey's public workers' union and other groups. The protesters planned to call for increased democracy in Turkey and an end to the renewed violence between Kurdish rebels and Turkish security forces.
