盲人田徑的認識

殘奧會田徑競賽規則，依據國際田徑聯合會規則（IAAF），國際殘奧會田徑規則（IPC）及盲人（IBSA）比賽特殊規則進行。上述規則中包括對醫學功能分級以及其他輔助裝備及比賽的技術等方面的規定。由於參賽運動員殘疾類別多，各項目設置的組別也多，因此其競賽組織更為複雜，對於競賽中的技術方面規定更具特殊性。

徑賽項目（T）

（1）T11級別視力障礙運動員，須佩戴不透明眼鏡或其他替代品參加比賽。

（2）T11、T12級別視力障礙運動員由引導員陪伴進入比賽區域，並在其幫助下完成比賽。每位運動員佔用2條跑道，引導員必須穿著由組委會提供的顏色統一的背心，以便清楚地與運動員區分開來。

（3）引導的方法由運動員選擇。他/她可以選擇使用繩鏈引導，也可以接受引導員的語言引導。參加比賽的運動員和引導員被看作是一個集體。當運動員衝過終點線時，引導員必須在其後面。不論使用哪種引導方法，運動員和引導員之間的距離始終不能超過0.5米。400米以及更長距離的比賽，允許使用2名引導員。

（4）T11級別視力障礙運動員，比賽中允許有聲音信號，但不允許對現有設施做視覺上的修改，如：油漆、粉筆、粉末、錐體、旗幟等。在運用聲音輔助的項目比賽時（例如：跳遠），要求觀眾完全安靜。而T12、T13級別視力障礙運動員，則允許對現有設施做視覺上的修改；T12級也可用聲音信號。

( 5 ) T11和T12級別運動員參加公路賽跑項目時（馬拉松），最多可使用4名引導員，但更換地點須在10公里、20公里、30公里處。運動員和他們的引導員在飲料站可得到服務。

參賽運動員的分級

（1）視力障礙運動員

視力障礙運動員無論參加田賽還是徑賽均分為3個級別。11級的運動員雙眼無感光，全盲；12級運動員的視力為從能識別手的形狀到0.03和/或視野小于5；13級運動員的視力從0.03以上到0.1和/或視野大於5小于20。分級別測試的運動員的眼睛應為最佳已校正的視力。
