硅谷华人的6+大俗气, 抛砖引玉

十年到十五年前硅谷华人的六大俗:

    (1)   大房子里打地铺. 钱都付了mortgage了, 买不起傢具.
    (2)   买车都买Toyota Camry, 并且大都是大便颜色那种.
    (3)   傢电摇控器都用保鲜膜包起来.
    (4)   洗碗机来当碗厨用.
    (5)   人人都想dot com.
    (6)   不管原来学什么统统重学E&C.



今天的硅谷华人的六大俗:

    (1)   都想送孩子进HYPMS(Harvard, Yale, Princeton, MIT, Stanford), 若进不了几乎要学富士康.
    (2)   买名牌也要来跟风. 男士们几乎只知POLO装, 女士们几乎只知Coach包.
    (3)   必须品傢具, 钢琴, 不能少.
    (4)   孩子学习每分钟必须排的满当当.
    (5)   自已在公司里混日子的多.
    (6) 30万刀的家庭收入汽车加油还去Costco.

呵呵。那个颜色不是最popular的吧。我感觉周围的老中包括我最喜欢银色的。不过好像没见过银色的大便。

The two new cars I bought were camry. The 1st one beige. the 2nd one silver.

I have one explanation:  

Mainland Chinese had their everything cleansed throught the cultural revolution

They tried to mimic the life- styles of Taiwanese early-comers.

Forty children of  employees from my company have been selected as recipients in this year’s Company US Scholarship Program.  

The students will receive renewable scholarships of $2,500 for up to four years of full-time study or completion of undergraduate degree requirements, whichever comes first.  The scholarship program covers undergraduate study at accredited colleges or universities in the U.S.

Waterdown version of 今天的硅谷华人的六大俗: (1)   都想送孩子进HYPMS(Harvard, Yale, Princeton, MIT, Stanford), 若进不了几乎要学富士康.

不过要是同事孩子九岁就开始参加奥数竞赛，现在不进MIT也是曲了他的数学天才。
