Once we figured out how to move to other planets, such alien question may be solved as well. Yes, the universe is super huge, but time is also super long. Space and time are two different dimensions. The period that we have high level living creatures on earth is so short that it is de minimis in the long history of the universe. Unless we could figure out a way to move to another planet, the whole sun system is destined to die in 5 billion years and the earth may die earlier than that, and human being could be destroyed earlier than that. It is probable that at a certain point of time, we are the only thinking creature in the universe, others either died long before (or shortly before), or will arise long after (or shortly after) at a corner of the universe. Even if there is no other living or thinking creatures other than human beings, if we figure out a way to move to another planet and such process continues (even if such process is as slow as one suitable star per a thousand years) at one day, the universe will be full of human beings (follow this logic, if there ever exists any high level creatures somewhere in the universe, they must have not figured out a way to move another planet or such process is so slow that it is not meaningful in any areological sense. |
