A Soviet-era statue that once represented friendship between Ukraine and Russia is dismantled in Kyiv. The 8m (26ft) bronze monument was removed on the orders of the city's mayor, Vitali Klitschko. He said: "Russia destroyed the normal life of millions of Ukrainians and destroyed the peace in Europe."
