根据科学家Paolo Tagaloguin的说法，长久以来外界针对马雅历的解读，认为2012年12月21日迎来世界末日的说法是错误的，他重新计算后，指出世界末日将落在2020年6月21日，也就是说，世界将在下周迎来末日。

综合英国《太阳报》（The Sun）、《纽约邮报》（New York Post）以及印度媒体「India Times」报导，先前阴谋论者结合马雅历法以及古代预言，计算出2012年12月21日是世界末日，儘管当时媒体大篇幅报导，社会上讨论度也很高，不过当天并没有特别的事情发生，世界末日说也逐渐被淡忘。

不过一位名叫Paolo Tagaloguin的科学家上周在社群网站上贴出贴文，指出外界对马雅历法的解读错误，如果根据儒略历（Julian Calendar）来计算，人类现在实际上身处2012年，而非2020年。

Paolo Tagaloguin的说法是，人类自1582年起首度使用格里历（Gregorian calendar），也就是现今大家惯称的公历或阳历，在此之前不同的地方分别使用马雅历以及儒略历。

如果依照儒略历的算法，人类转换成公历后，每一年都会少算11天，我们必须把这些少算的日子加回去，也就是自公历广泛启用的268年间（1752-2020）乘上11天，再去除365天，总共得出8年。2020年6月21日才是实际上的2012年12月21日。

换句话说，按照Paolo Tagaloguin的算法，下周日就是世界末日。

不过针对世界末日说的说法，美国太空总署（NASA）先前就已表示毫无根据，全部都是虚构的说法。

值得注意的是，报导指出，Paolo Tagaloguin的贴文已经遭到删除。

I see your logic.

However, I at least experienced twice such “The end of world” predictions, one was so near me, The predictors from Taiwan were less than 40 miles from my home. I did not believe it and nothing happened.   Their predictions were all over on US Media then.

This kind of predictions usually always connected to the Bible prediction. Someday, Jesus will come back to destroy the world, and bring all the Christians back to live in the heaven with God. (Other's will go to hell.)

That is only my understanding, may not be exact correct (大意）.
