Yes, that's why there are many measured move fibo lines in my charts, which are used to calculate target levels. These calculations, when combined with S/R levels, give us the targets.

Breakouts often lead to 100% moves, but 61.8% is more realistic for swing trades. There are often multiple levels from multiple ways of measuring, and you take the conservative target first.

JPY also finished three legged down and overshot the 100% mm target ... this up leg is weak, more like a bear flag ... maybe JPY trend has changed ...

There is a possible double top in AUD, target the previous low on 1/18.

If that low is taken out, it would be really bad.

But before all these, let's don't trade if it doesn't break out ... An alternative is the range play, though a bit larger than that in EURO.

Something happened to JPY ... a huge hourly bear bar ... leading a lower high top. We are short, the most optimistic target is the previous low.

LOS ANGELES (MarketWatch) -- The Japanese yen slid in midday trading Thursday in Asia after reported comments by Vice Finance Minister Takehiko Nakao that Tokyo is closely watching the currency's moves. Dow Jones Newswires quoted Nakao as saying in an interview that Japan "will take appropriate action if necessary" after gains for the yen following disappointment over the timing of the Bank of Japan's latest easing moves. The dollar USDJPY +0.6339% rose to ￥89.27 after trading at ￥88.61 late Wednesday, with the bulk of the gains coming after the Dow Jones Newswires report. Currency-sensitive Japanese stocks followed the dollar upward, with the Nikkei Stock Average JP:100000018 +1.37% rallying 1.4%. Nakao said that the yen's downward march from late 2012 until the Bank of Japan decision "should be regarded as a correction from the one-sided and excessive appreciation that took place up to last year."
