[保健养生] 给喜欢跑和走的同学一个建议

给喜欢跑和走的同学一个建议:

减少跑和走的时间和运动量,用无冲击力运动代替,例如 eliptical, Bike,  swim, etc。可以大大减少老了退行性关节炎/骨性关节炎 (osteoarthritis) 的发病率。现在国际,国内都开始高度重视这个问题了,这是爱运动和工作走路多朋友的多发病。

作一个search,中文英文均可,您会发现大量有关资料。。。

Actually, sports for competition and sports for health are never being the samething.

IMHO, sports for competition are mostly harmful for your health. Professional athlates have more health problems when they grow old. Their average life expectancy is lower than average population.

This is my unpopular comments. Waiting for being attacked by many...

Must agree. Swimming has no hurt to body unless you drink pool water.

no time to swim every day. ouuch.

GWB runs everyday for several miles, he looks ok though.

GWB‘s father replaced his joints.

When I was in China this summer, on a bus, one person was talking about her mother had a replace joints operation, four people(strangers) started talking about the same experiences of their relatives.

my neighbough (late 40's), a hospital ICU technician, and my friend's wife (late 50's), a hotel worker, both have serious osteoarthritis.

The common part of their job is walking too much.

in order to burn the same amount of calories, does it require to work longer?

I don't think so, you can increase the resistance, also use higher slope, you can run fast too. The machine will tell you how many cal you burn per minute. Guess what, I am a elliptical runner. :)
