my friend had a trip to Russia--Lake Baikal/Siberia completed. I want to find how he can spend such small money for this trip.
Can some body figure it out?
He said:Truely, very beautiful there.
No much money spent, because I stayed in hostels.
He told me "I flow in to Irkutk from Beijing,costs about usd$250, stayed in hostel "Baikaler"
for about usd$22/day, a train ride to Ulan-Ude for $55, same price to stay in a
hostel"Traveller" and a train cross the Siberia[best] to Russian bouder town--Zabaukalsk
for $86,then cross bouder to Man-zhou-li, Hei-long-jiang,China.
  You may choose other better hostels,they all speak good English.
Ordinary Russian people is freinfly/warm hearted most of time.
July is best month to go.

there is certainly ways to save money for the trips :) but you have to do your homework upfront, and be brave enough to explore a country that you don't even speak their language. I have never been to Russian, it was on my list though, hmm, someday I will make it for sure!

I think it's better to visit Africa with a safari tour, avg cost is $4k-$5k pp for 2 weeks.

PPT lao da, have you been to Africa Safari? if the answer is yes, do you care for sharing?

I want to go, but I guess I will be scared to death to be in short distance from wild lives.
