Meredith Whitney was on CNBC this morning banging the drum of doom: She sees a double dip in the housing market as a consequence of stepped-up foreclosure activity. “Banks are actually accelerating their foreclosure programs, accelerating their short-sale programs. People who have been paying their mortgage now have to start paying rent,” said Whitney. “You’ll see a real leg down in supply displacement when you foreclose and you have to sell” and more houses come onto an already over-saturated market.

Whitney also claims large banks are as good as “zombie banks” given that consumer and commercial assets are not growing.

Exactly.  It is hoped that our fellow investors in this community start to understand the importance of respecting diversified opinions, especially those from a person with advanced knowledge, skill and respectable kindness.  Throwing low balls will not boost anyone's account.  In stead, it will prove that one has a long way to go to become a decent trader.  I do hope that Brother X!ng will return eventually as his insightful comments are too valuable to HT and HTers!
