Goldman Sachs raised its annual forecast for the S&P 500 on Monday,
saying an improvement in earnings will drive a sharp second-half rally.
Goldman raised its year-end SP500 target to 1060 from 940,
reflecting a potential price return of about 13% from current levels.

02:00PM Beige Book, anecdotal evidence on the U.S. economy
expect a bit better tone than seen in the past couple of Beige Book reports indicating some progress toward economic recovery. Specifically, the summary should reference widespread indications of a slower pace of decline and some signs of tentative stability in economic conditions,there will likely be moderate growth in the second half of the year.

US dollar rose against both the yen and the euro
oil futures slumped $1.48 to $65.75 a barrel ahead of weekly energy inventory data
the oil futures decline is tied to the tumble in Chinese equities

Time Warner(TWX) reported a 34% profit fall but reiterated earnings expectations, sending shares up over +1% in pre-market action.
ConocoPhillips (COP) reported a 76% profit fall as oil prices tumbled. Conoco shares slipped moderately after the report.
Arcelor Mittal(MT, the world's largest steelmaker) fell -6% after report of a worse-than-forecast loss.
Yahoo(YHOO) tumbled -6% after inking a 10-year Internet search pact with Microsoft(MSFT). Yahoo estimated the deal could generate operating income of $500 million per year. Microsoft shares rose +1%.
A number of insurers will report results after the closing bell.
