A thought about the smart money hedging plot in cobra's weekly summary

It seems the smart money hedging  plot is not working recently.  it used to be that smart money would add short close to a top and cover them close to bottom.  however recently, no such short position increases were seen at market peaks.
Since the plot only captures hedge positions in Nasdaq 100, I am thinking maybe it is because of some recent changes in the hedging strategies of smart money.  Smart money could potentially hold long in Nasdaq 100, and the hedge with shorting Rut.  that may explain why the plot is not working recently.
Is there any ways to get similar plots for other major index such as spy, indu or rut?
