CHICAGO (MarketWatch) -- Renewable energy firm Solyndra, recipient of a $535 million federal energy loan guarantee, went bust Wednesday, shutting its California headquarters and throwing more than 1,000 people out of work, according to media reports. The firm, once championed by the White House as part of the new wave of "green job" creation, will file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, Bloomberg reports. "Regulatory and policy uncertainties in recent months created significant near-term excess supply and price erosion," said Brian Harrison, Solyndra's chief executive officer, in announcing the move to shut down operations

the people set up solar manufacture in Fremont, CA is really stupid!

Solar 产业技术含量 relatively 较低. 主要是在Manufacturing cost 方面的竞争. 与中国遍地开花的 solar 工业比, 美国不太有优势.

和很多在 San Jose 地区开的公司一样, Solyndra 钱烧完了会再从 Milpitas 换到 Mountain View 或者Sunnyvale 开另外的公司. San Jose 地区天气好, 不愁找不到钱和人.

一看这个兄弟就不是在 San Jose 开公司的. 有些开公司的不怕贵, 因为他们对企业根本就没有长远打算.

很多开公司的为了拿到 Venture Capital, 就在 San Jose 附近地区开. 因为 VC pattners 大都住在附近 (他们一点儿都不嫌贵), 有能找到 Engineers (他们嫌贵, 所以愿意为了涨工资换工作). 这是龟谷的生态系统特色之一.
