I recently read a review of world uranium demand for energy (uranium) and supply for 2011 to 2015.
1. Mining only supplies 50% of world uranium demand for currently operating power plant
2. the other 50% comes from the US and Russia - from nuclear weapons being decommissioned
3. In 2013 a 50% reduction in supply will occur. US and Russia will be out of uranium for sale
4. By 2015, uranium mines will need to increase present uranium production by 150% since beyond replacing the depleted stockpiles an additional 20% above current demand will be needed by 2015.
5. Prices will go up significantly once depleted weapons sales are complete.
6. CCJ has the highest % concentration of all operates do it costs them less to mine and process
7. CCJ has long term contracts - i.e. China 25 years. They trade stability in earnings over benefiting from every dollar of increased spot prices.
8. CCJ is as a result in a unique position among uranium miners. Their earnings for the next 5 years would not be effected even if not one more nuclear plant is approved. Earnings to grow 30% this year.
Background: medical doctor, radiology and nuclear medicine board certified, medical physics program ucla.
The major threats are radioactive iodine - risk thyroid cancer (>90% curable) and Cesium (long term restrictions for farming).
Prediction: there will be few deaths (included shortened lives.
slight risk: land restriction for farming (minimal risk)
risk nuclear energy will be slowed materially - zero - overriding factor - world population
--the alternative is to fight energy wars
Little known fact - low dose radiation may be healthful - many studies find it extends life
--Fear is what is in the stock now - but within a week this kind of information will be more prominent in the news, IMO

Goldman in a letter to their clients stated that people were over-reacting on nuke stocks. It believes that price of these oversold nuke stocks will recover within days. That includes CCJ, USU, etc.
Watch them on Monday. |
