The gold & silver's collapse is an important sign that the hope of China's support to EURO has diminished. Europe now has only 2 options, broken and/or print. US wants EU to do both!

I have different reading on the collapse of Gold and Silver:

1) Major European Banks are under severer "bank run" - they have to sell whatever tangible assets to defense the liquidity dry up
2) Initial sharp selling pressure triggered the margin call on speculator's position

Then, it is a full blown avalanche now...

JM2C. It's a confirmation that precious metal is not considered as a means of payment from China's perspective. This, essentially cuts off Europe's hope to attract China's liquidity for rescue. The next step Europe has no choice but start printing, probably some actions will be announced this weekends. That's why EURO is now still relatively stable and US treasury starts to drop.

China will eventually pay for its myopic view. The double printing of U.S. and Europe will only speed up the inflation heat in China and cause the hard landing of China economy.
