* Says to offer stakes to 3rd parties in many Canadian, US gas plays

* Aim is to speed up development of some longer-term plays

* Packages for Canadian stakes available in weeks, US plays in about a month

* Says has not shut any gas production in this year

* Says gas prices getting to point where shut-ins may be considered (Reporting by Jeffrey Jones)
