你要98年在东南亚生活过一段时间，就知道不是这么一回事了。很多人人生一下子就被wipe out了。工作没了，房子供不起，物价飞涨东西也买不起，几十年的积蓄一夜之间差不多化为乌有。所以老美还是很幸运的，至少货币还很坚挺，物价还可以。

98前后待过。对人生的看法改变很大。终于明白归根结底，还是运气，作为一个普通人，很多事情一出生就没有选择的余地。人生最重要还是心态。98年惨的人可多了，公司高管沦落到开taxi, banker转去当收银。这还是朋友，认识的，不认识的就不知道了。

ponzi scheme happens in Chinese community everywhere, everyday. Many people lost money, and still dream it back someday.

as simple as that, the person/org offer you more returns more than you dream for, and you can cash it out, really! for quite sometime.
You believe it, you put more money in, you tell your friends. Then more and more people join until it explodes, since they pay you by using later people's money.
