What Does Capitulation Mean?
When investors give up any previous gains in stock price by selling equities in an effort to get out of the market and into less risky investments. True capitulation involves extremely high volume and sharp declines. It usually is indicated by panic selling.

The term is a derived from a military term which refers to surrender.

After capitulation selling, it is thought that there are great bargains to be had. The belief is that everyone who wants to get out of a stock, for any reason (including forced selling due to margin calls), has sold. 假如米国头天因为什么坏消息大跌，导致夜里全世界都竞相作高台跳水表演，那基本上不要指望第二天米国开盘后会做任何跳水表演，事实上米国第二天涨得几率还挺高。假如米国第二天也做高台跳水状的话，那么恭喜你，抄底吧，因为该例外到目前共发生过两回，1月22日，3月17日。
