美国大环境不好，而国内是不错的。

谈到医改问题，温家宝表示政府打算做五件事情：第一，要扩大城乡医疗保险的覆盖面。力争用三年的时间使城镇职工医疗保险、城镇居民医疗保险和农村合作医疗保险的覆盖面都达到90%。第二，建立基本药物制度。把群众需要的常见病的急需药物作为基本药物，使大家能够看得起病、吃得起药。第三，进一步加强医疗服务体系的建设。在三年内，还要完成5000个中心乡镇卫生院、2000个县医院、2400个城市社区卫生院的建设。第四，加强医药服务体系均等化。增加人均医药卫生保障水平，特别是公共经费的保障水平。第五，公立医院的改革。

I have some different opinions from maomi.
Small molecules are still have many advantages than large molecules, though one disadvantage is that its successful rate are lower than large molecules. Small molecules are easy to manufacture and have low cost. It is easy to administer to patient.

From biology perspective, small molecules have more targets than large molecules. Large molecules are protein based and they have to be manufactured using living cells, mainly CHO cells now.

I believe the breakthrough is to identify the right targets.

The first biotech company is Cetus which was founded in 1971 and later was bought by Chiron,which was acquired by Novatis.

Genetech is so-called first biotech company which was founded in 1976 and sold to Roche in 1990 for around 2 billions. Later Roche sold Genetech to pulic and it still controls more than 50% of DNA share.

Amgen was founded in 1980 and is the largest biotech company still standing so far.

DNA is No 1 in market cap while AMGN is the No 1 in term of sales.
DNA is owned by Roche holding and is going to be bought by Roche soon.
