when you doing the hedge, when did you close the hedge position? if the market up again  ...

For example, in the last 9 days including today, you always have a chance to close your hedge with gain if you short somewhere before the close ... I have been doing that.

However, you may not be this lucky in general. You can close it with a loss when it breaks out successfully ...

Of course, once the short-term/intermediate terms are decisively up (i.e. when the debt issues are resolved), you don't have to hedge ... just take profit often you should be fine ...
