WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) -- Federal Reserve Board Chairman Ben Bernanke stressed that the central bank was ready to take further steps to stimulate the economy if growth turns out to be weaker than expected. "We are ready and we will act if the economy does not continue to improve - if we don't see the kind of improvements in the labor market that we are hoping for and expecting," Bernanke told the House Financial Services Committee in the second day of his summer report on monetary policy to Congress. Bernanke said the effectiveness of the Fed's tools depends in part on financial conditions. "If financial conditions become more stressed - as would happen presumably if the economy began to weaken, I think those steps would be more effective relatively speaking," Bernanke said.
SPX is on its way to 1200 and so few HTers can see it now. Just like When SPX was 1200 and on its way to 1000, very few people here saw that. As a super bear and as I said a while ago, anything below 1050 I buy, buy and buy. I need everyone to think we are on our way to 1400, then I will come back at that time.
