Chan study on spy (30 min bi)

bi is the first step for chan study. chan once said, it is pre-school level.

aug.28:
still need at least one more up then check on divergency on current bi.

a. bi




b. duan
also need to check divergency on blue duan. blue line is duan; it means the up or down "BI" movement is completed.
the definition of completion is a bit complex. put it in a simple way is that, the prior BI movement is broken by the current BI movement by 2 scenarios: a. a reverse bi breaks into the prior bi "zone" or b. if not, current bi is broken by the coming/future bi, which means, it is 100% clear yet and needs further confirmation.





the goal is to find the divergency to determine "turning" point. chan's first buy.
the bi and duan is to set up a framework to compare bi or daun at the same level for a fair comparison.
core theory is "zone" that is the focus: movement before and after zone is the object to compare and to find divergency.

I think some of your "Bi"s are short and not valid. One Bi contains at least 5 valid bars.

true.
but i use new "BI" definition based on 4 bars and also put reverse gap as bi.
still some of bi is  not accurately plot.

quick update on 08/29/11,

gap up above 119.X, strong uptrend of 2nd up, no divergency.
it means 1 more up leg after small dip. buy any dip above 119.5 and cautious buy if it dips to 118.

the drop is slightly bigger than i thought, but spy still above 119.5; bot SSO @42.8 and prepare to sell anytime soon.

the rebound is good. load dip above 119.5 if there is any today.

BTW, all this is not 30 min; for 30m, if you have long, just hold it. and if have no long or short, buy dip.

you have to search for chan on sina blog. it has 108 chapters. btw, MR. CHAN is a female and she died 2 years ago.

if you are serious, you need to go read and study her original posts.

forming a 5 min down bi to complete the previous 5 min uptrend.
if drops SPX 1220, then a 5 min down duan is formed; which translates into 30 min down bi.

SSO 5min BI zone and trend.




SPY 30min DUAN. A new 30min down BI today. however, today 30 down bi is not strong enough to touch
previous down bi around $121.5; (ES and SSO are different from SPY).

a. 60-70% very likely to see another 30min up BI and then divergency, and then see 30min up trend over.
b. 30-40% continue this down bi tomorrow, which means 30min up trend is already over.

Do you mind share how do you decide SPY -- "30 min down BI and up BI"? I see some only 3 K lines while others have multiple.

If you use 1 min chart to build up -- 8/9 -- 8/17 up DUAN is 5F, same as 8/17 -- 8/22 down DUAN, while 8/22 -- 8/24 up DUAN in your 30 min chart is 1F XianDuan up without 1F ZONE, 8/24 -- 8/26 down DUAN is 1F, 8/26 -- 8/31 up Duan is 1F --- keep in mind that we have not finish this down yet and the high of 8/29 is 121.43 which has been touched this afternoon spy 121.30, so we could see another 5F ZONE is build and we need to see how this 5F ZONE is going to finish.
