1st day and 1st week's performance --indicating the new year's performance?

The Stock Trader's Almanac records another indicator for January - the first week's performance for January. The first week's performance accurately sets the tone for the year approximately 86.1% of the time, according to the 2010 almanac. Investors who follow this indicator will be very interested in this week's performance. today SPX went up about 1.6%, thus, SPX will go up another 16% more this year!? a dream or something else?

I remember that 2008 January was kind of prediction of the whole year, because people was saying it on Jan. then it came out pretty similar.
