VIX could change a lot after hours easily. So it is still possible for an all up day.

I thought VIX does not matter.

VIX is actually neutral to bull and bear, it only means volatility, that's why it's called volatility index, not bull's fear index. However, I think a higher numbered VIX brings more fear to the general market.
