Novatel Wireless (Nasdaq: NVTL) 20.7% HIGHER; reports Q2 EPS of $0.02, 5 cents better than the estimate of ($0.03). Revenue for the quarter was $84.1 million, versus the consensus of $77.41 million.

Synaptics Inc. (Nasdaq: SYNA) 19.3% LOWER; reported Q4 EPS of $0.36, below the consensus of $0.44. Revenues came in at $115.3 million, versus the consensus of $112.1 million. The company sees 2010 revenues of $495-$525 million, versus the consensus of $522.5 million. Also announced that its Chairman and CEO will be retiring.

ARIAD Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq: ARIA) 18% LOWER; reports a Q2 loss of $0.25, in-line with the analyst estimate of ($0.25). Revenue for the quarter was $2.05 million, versus the consensus of $3.29 million.

TranSwitch (Nasdaq: TXCC) 16.9% HIGHER; reports Q2 EPS of $0.00, in-line with the analyst estimate of $0.00. Revenue for the quarter was $14.5 million, versus the consensus of $14.45 million.Sees Q3 revs around $15 million, which compares to the Street estimate of $15.8 million.

Anadys Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq: ANDS) 15% HIGHER; announced finalization of the protocol for the Company's Phase II trial of ANA598 in combination with pegylated interferon-alpha and ribavirin in hepatitis C patients. Allowance of the protocol has been received from the US FDA, and patient dosing is expected to commence within the next several weeks. Also reported a Q2 loss of $0.21, 7 cents better than the analyst estimate of ($0.28).

YRC Worldwide (Nasdaq: YRCW) 14.5% LOWER; reports Q2 loss of $3.53, ex-items, versus the analyst estimate of ($1.71). Revenue for the quarter was $1.33 million, versus the consensus of $1.59 billion.

Entropic Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq: ENTR) 13.2% HIGHER; reports Q2 EPS of ($0.01), 1 cent better than the analyst estimate of ($0.02). Revenue for the quarter was $26.1 million, versus the consensus of $25.63 million.

Las Vegas Sands Corp. (NYSE: LVS) 11.8% LOWER; reports Q2 EPS of $0.01, 2 cents better than the analyst estimate of ($0.01). Revenue for the quarter was $1.06 billion, versus the consensus of $1.08 billion.

Evergreen Solar, Inc. (Nasdaq: ESLR) 10.3% LOWER; reports Q2 EPS of ($0.11), 3 cents below the analyst estimate of ($0.08). Revenue for the quarter was $63.8 million, versus the consensus of $63.37 million.

drugstore.com (Nasdaq: DSCM) 10% HIGHER; reports Q2 EPS of $0.01, 2 cents better than the analyst estimate of ($0.01). Revenue for the quarter was $100.3 million, versus the consensus of $95.70 million. Sees Q3 revs of $94-$96 million, versus the consensus of $92.3 million.

Genoptix (Nasdaq: GXDX) 9.8% HIGHER; reports Q2 EPS of $0.44, 13 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.31. Revenue for the quarter was $43.5 million, versus the consensus of $42.38 million. Genoptix expects revenues for the full-year 2009 of between $175 and $180 million, an increase from previous estimates of approximately $170 to $175 million. (Consensus is $175.15 million) Diluted EPS for the full-year 2009 is now expected to be between $1.40 and $1.45, increasing from a prior range of $1.20 to $1.25. (Consensus is $1.33)

Monolithic Power Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: MPWR) 9.8% LOWER; reports Q2 EPS of $0.17, 3 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.14. Revenue for the quarter was $41.2 million, versus the consensus of $38.90 million. Sees Q3 revs $42M to $46M versus $42M.

Stone Energy (NYSE: SGY) 9.2% HIGHER; reports Q2 EPS of $0.41 versus the analyst estimate of $0.17.

Gen-Probe (Nasdaq: GPRO) 8.5% LOWER; reports Q2 EPS of $0.45, 2 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.43. Revenue for the quarter was $120.5 million, versus the consensus of $123.16 million. Sees Q3 revenues $185M to $195M versus $193M consensus.

PerkinElmer Inc. (NYSE: PKI) 8.4% LOWER; reports Q2 EPS of $0.28, 1 cent better than the analyst estimate of $0.27. Revenue for the quarter was $434.6 million, versus the consensus of $459.29 million. Sees FY09 EPS of $1.18-$1.24, versus the consensus of $1.27.

Conexant Systems Inc. (Nasdaq: CNXT) 8% LOWER; reports Q3 EPS of $0.02, 6 cents better than the analyst estimate of ($0.04). Revenue for the quarter was $84.6 million, versus the consensus of $83.20 million. Sees Q4 revs of $54 million, versus the consensus of $85.8 million, and core net income of $0.01-$0.02, which may not compare to the consensus of a $0.01 loss.

DXP Enterprises (Nasdaq: DXPE) 7.7% LOWER; reports Q2 EPS of $0.15, in-line with the analyst estimate of $0.15. Revenue for the quarter was $144.4 million, versus the consensus of $154.17 million.

Pitney Bowes Inc. (NYSE: PBI) 7.6% LOWER; reports Q2 EPS of $0.55, 5 cents below the analyst estimate of $0.60. Revenue for the quarter was $1.38 billion, versus the consensus of $1.43 billion. Sees FY09 EPS $2.15 to $2.35 versus $2.46 consensus.

Baldor Electric (NYSE: BEZ) 6.8% LOWER; reports Q2 EPS of $0.17, 1 cent worse than the analyst estimate of $0.18. Revenue for the quarter was $384.7 million, versus the consensus of $386.78 million. We expect the second half of 2009 to continue to be challenging, with sales declining from one year ago. Even with these sales declines, we believe our operating margin will continue to improve during the next two quarters.

Mohawk Industries, Inc. (NYSE: MHK) 5.4% HIGHER; reports Q2 EPS of $0.79 versus the analyst estimate of $0.47. Revenue for the quarter was $1.41 billion, versus the consensus of $1.42 billion. Sees Q3 EPS 53c to 63c versus 56 cents.

Genworth Financial Inc. (NYSE: GNW) 5.3% LOWER; reports Q2 EPS of $0.02, versus the analyst estimate of $0.16.

Nanometrics (Nasdaq: NANO) 5.1% HIGHER; reports Q2 EPS of ($0.20), 6 cents better than the analyst estimate of ($0.26). Revenue for the quarter was $14.5 million, versus the consensus of $16 million.

First Solar, Inc. (Nasdaq: FSLR) 5% LOWER; reports Q2 EPS of $2.11, versus the analyst estimate of $1.62. Revenue for the quarter was $525.9 million, versus the consensus of $459.12 million.

VistaPrint (Nasdaq: VPRT) 5% LOWER; reports Q4 EPS of $0.43, 4 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.39. Revenue for the quarter was $135.2 million, versus the consensus of $127.91 million. Sees FY10 EPS of $1.83-$1.95, versus the consensus of $1.94 and revs of $605-$635 million, versus the Street estimate of $598 million.

Geron (Nasdaq: GERN) 4.9% LOWER; reports Q2 loss of $0.23, 4 cents lower than the analyst estimate of ($0.19). Revenue for the quarter was $183K, versus the consensus of $800K.

Dynamic Materials (Nasdaq: BOOM) 4.7% LOWER; reports Q2 EPS of $0.12, 1 cent better than the analyst estimate of $0.11. Revenue for the quarter was $37.8 million, versus the consensus of $38.79 million.

Adaptec, Inc. (Nasdaq: ADPT) 4% LOWER; reports Q1 EPS of $0.00, 2 cents better than the analyst estimate of ($0.02). Revenue for the quarter was $21.7 million, versus the consensus of $20.75 million. For the second quarter of fiscal 2010, net revenues are projected to be between $17 million and $19 million. Non-GAAP net loss per share is projected to be in a range of $(0.03) and $(0.01). (Consensus is $18.39 million and a $0.03 loss, respectively)

Openwave Systems Inc. (Nasdaq: OPWV) 4% LOWER; reports Q2 EPS of breakeven, 1 cents below the analyst estimate of $0.01. Revenue for the quarter was $47.9 million, versus the consensus of $44.3 million.

Exelixis (Nasdaq: EXEL) 4% LOWER; reports Q2 EPS of ($0.42) versus the analyst estimate of ($0.41). Revenue for the quarter was $27.4 million, versus the consensus of $33.41 million.

Walt Disney (NYSE: DIS) 3.7% LOWER; reports Q3 EPS of $0.52, 1 cent better than the analyst estimate of $0.51. Revenue for the quarter was $8.6 million, versus the consensus of $8.83 billion and down 7% from the same quarter last year.

Varian Semiconductor Equipment Associates Inc. (Nasdaq: VSEA) 3.5% LOWER; reports Q3 EPS of ($0.19), 6 cents better than the analyst estimate of ($0.25). Revenue for the quarter was $73.4 million, versus the consensus of $68.91 million. Sees Q4 EPS 1c to 6c versus consensus of a loss of 9 cents.

DryShips, Inc. (Nasdaq: DRYS) 1.8% HIGHER; reports Q2 EPS of $0.25, ex-items, 4 cents better than the analyst estimate of $0.21. Revenue for the quarter was $210.5 million, versus the consensus of $204.05 million.
