The coming triple-witching expiration week
I am a freshman in stock market and have not touched the options and futures or any other contracts. Recently I have read some articles about the triple-witching expiration week and perhaps it would provide my friends at Hutong some information. However, please always remember: your money, your decision.
1) According to Todd Salamone (Senior Vice President of Research from Schaeffers Research ) , We are heading into triple-witching week, which is the expiration of index options, equity options, and stock index futures. The table below displays how triple-witching expiration weeks have fared since 2006. The bullish bias is quite evident, even when compared to non-triple-witching expiration weeks.
2) According to Cobra (our extraordinary leader of Hutong), from seasonality point of view, the next Monday is very bullish. By the way, it also SPX has 3 possible green days, which looks like also bullish in the coming week.
But he also warned us, “as SPY has 7 unfilled gaps, and the recent actions were enough to convince me that it couldn’t hold the 8th gap for more than a few days, so if I were a bear, I wouldn’t be too worried about any gap up open on Monday”.
3) According to 老亥 (the boss of Hutong and top expert on数理), he also predicted 3 possible green days for Dow)
Actually we should admit that the economy has been stabilized to some extents, although the potential heavy deflation or Hyperinflation problems still exist, see previous research reports by dividend_growth, watchman and other top theory analysis experts at Hutong .
