Early Tuesday, Hemispherx announced that it was selling 11.9 million shares of its common stock for $16 million, or about $1.34 a share. The investors will also receive warrants to purchase 4.2 million shares at $1.31 a share. The warrants are exercisable for up to five years after the deal's close.
