Converted Organics Inc. (COIN) on Friday registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission to sell from time to time up to $12.5 million of common stock, preferred stock, debt securities, warrants and units.

The Boston development stage company said it intends to use the net proceeds for general corporate purposes, which may include reducing debt, increasing working capital or financing acquisitions and capital expenditures.
