Price up and Volume up in down trend (1)

Set up:

* Down trend for a some time (price dropped 15% or more),

* suddenly one day the stock price hit new low

* but closed high (>1% for stocks, 0.4% for index than previous day),

* and volume up (20% higher than previous day)

 

Analysis:

Buyers come; the price may have a nice bounce or even begin a new up trend.

 

Next day's strategy:

1. If open higher (and keep higher for at least 10 minutes), it means buyers are keep buying then we can buy;

2. If open lower, it means buyers are watching so we watch;

3. If intraday breaks yesterday's low, it means the down trend resumes so w exit.

Analysis:

 

1. Institues are actively buying; the price may have bottomed and begin a new up trend;

 

2. Huge volume means the up/down speed will be faster.

 

Next day's strategy:

 

1. If open higher (and keep higher for at least 10 minutes), it means institues are keep buying then we can aggresively buy; If intraday break up yesterday's high, it means the bounce/uptrend range is big and we can add more;

 

2. If open lower, it means buyers are watching so we watch or test buy some; Wait until the intraday price breaks up yesterday's high then aggressively buy;

 

3. If intraday breaks yesterday's low, it means the down trend resumes so we exit.

* with higher volume (> 20% than previous day), but NOT HUGE volume.

 

Analysis:

 

1. Volume higher means more buys and sells. It is normal for hot stocks. The uptrend is intact.

 

Next days strategy:

 

1. Hold and DO NOT SELL, unless

2. If price breaks down the low of previous 3 days, then sell and take profit.

Analysis:

 

1. Although many buyers, institues may sell high, so possible pull down.

2. If consolidated well, may resume up trend and make new high.

3. If not consolidated well, may begin down trend.

 

Next days strategy:

 

1. If open high, hold stocks or test sell; If intrday price breaks down today's close, then sell or even short sell.

2. If open low, then active sell or even short sell.

3. If intraday price down first then up and breaks up today's high, means sell pressure diminished, then cover short or even buy more.

ERES does not meet the set up conditions here. So need to analyze it using other methods.
