TORONTO (Reuters) - The dollar eased against the U.S. currency on Friday morning after the April annual inflation rate stayed at 3.3 percent, a touch less than expected.
But the rate was again above the Bank of Canada's target range of 1 to 3 percent, according to the Statistics Canada data.
The currency eased to C$0.9690 to the U.S. dollar, or $1.0320, from around C$0.9668 to the U.S. dollar, or $1.0343. It was also mildly softer than Thursday's close at C$0.9682 to the U.S. dollar, or $1.0328.
