another problem is margin, if you buy SPY in cash account, you don't have margin problem in down market; but you will have this problem with ES.

不过象俺这总小本的，直接买spy赚不了几个钱啊。。。。。

one thing I know about option that if you lost it. that is it. You do not have to chip in more. therefore you control you max loss.
I think ES is margin type account? (I do not trade ES, so I do not know). if market against you, you might get a margin call? if that is the truth, then I do not like it.

I think time value decay accelerate in last 2-3 week before expiration. I like get out off the position before that.
