偶發現偶還是要繼續調整一下所關注的ETFs   因為裡面有許多是同類型的股票  又有些是牛皮股(不會動的)  偶需要一些ETF是有好的 liquidity 也有好的 volatility 的 ... 那又不能太過於 volatile ... (3X is too much for me, maybe 2X?)

That is much easier!  I like that idea!  I am suffering from being wandering around to find what stocks to trade.  I never had this kind of problem when I trade futures.  I should (must) narrow down the stock list that I watch!  I got to do that!  BTW, you trade TQQQ only, then what are you going to do if the the market bearish?  Do you short TQQQ?  Another question, how do you deal with big gap ... which is what I am very afraid of.

I do long term (several months) trading. No Short, long only.
(but I made mistakes last couples weeks by not sticking to my rule. I jumped in and out. Otherwise I should make about 30% of my salary by now)
Gaps for me is not a problem, since I trade long terms ... (while gap down is bad, gap up is bonus for me).

I appreciate your input!  Your screen name is TNA but you trade TQQQ only ... which is interesting ... why you don't trade TNA too?  Talking about gaps, I noticed that the gaps on 07/23 were different among TQQQ and other 3X ETFs.  On 07/23, TQQQ gapped down but still in  the trading range of previous couple weeks, which won't hurt too much.  However, FAS and EDC gapped down out of the trading range, which killled my position.  I need to think this through again this weekend because my current portfolio is too sluggish.

I used to trade TNA only, but TNA was weak last cycle.( from Sep/2011 to March/2012)
I found TQQQ correlate with the market better, so recently I decided to trade TQQQ only.

That is really a good idea!  Each time trade only one strongest ETF (which is diversified already).  Another question, how do you deal with the Wash Sale Rule?  Do you change a different ETF if a position is stopped out at some loss?

I am glad that I am here learning something from you my friends!  I don't have much experience on trading stock becasue 99% of my trading time is on FX and futures.  On the other hand, I don't want to treat my big troops as risky money nor to expose them to FX/futures markets.

That's a good questions.
For a long term holding, that's not a problem. (after you are out, you will not get in immediately )
For short term trading, sorry  I really do not know ....

OK ... I have made up my mind (again) ... I am going to think through all these and design a trading rule that is good for long term 3X (2X?) ETF trading (and maybe to avoid wash sale problem).

for SPY, there are at least 2 pairs of 3X ETF (UPRO/SPXU, SPXS/SPXL). To avoid wash sale, just buy the alternative after selling one.

even exchange between 3X and 2X by maintaining the effective underlying value constant could work for this purpose
